Battery Replacement
The batteries may be replaced without having to turn the UPS off or disconnecting the load due
to the hot-swappable battery feature.
When replacing batteries, use the same number and the following types of batteries:

Attention:
Potentially lethal voltage exists within this unit as long as the battery
supply is connected. Do not disconnect the batteries when the unit is in
back-up mode
Battery cabinet assembly may be heavy. Use suitable lifting equipment.
Caution:
Servicing of the batteries should be performed or supervised by
personnel knowledgeable of batteries and the required precautions.
Keep unauthorized personnel away from the batteries.
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. They may explode.
Do not open or mutilate the battery or batteries. Released electrolyte is
harmful to the skin and eyes. It may be toxic.
A battery can present a risk of electrical shock and high short circuit
current. The following precautions should be observed when working on
batteries:
Remove watches, rings, and other metal objects.
Use tools with insulated handles.
Wear rubber gloves and boots.
Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries.
Disconnect charging source prior to connecting or disconnecting battery terminals.
Determine whether the battery is grounded. If grounded, remove the source of the
ground connection. Contact with any part of a grounded battery can result in
electrical shock. The likelihood of such a shock is reduced if grounds are removed
during installation and maintenance (applicable to a UPS and a remote battery supply
not having a grounded supply circuit).
