Chapter 8 - Management

8.1

Management Tool

The management tool is a web-based interface to the AP that provides easy access to all 

configuration and monitoring functions. 

8.1.1

Management Station

The 

management station

 refers to the computer that an administrator uses to connect to the 

management tool

.

 To act as a management station, a computer must:

„

Have a JavaScript-enabled web browser installed (at least Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or 

Mozilla Firefox 2.0).

„

Be able to establish an IP connection with the AP.

8.1.2

Starting the Management Tool

To launch the management tool, point your web browser to the IP address of the AP. By default, the 

address is 192.168.1.1. 

For information on starting the management tool for the first time, see 

“Configuration Procedure” on 

page 61

Customizing Management Tool Settings

To customize management tool settings, select 

Management > Management tool
