GPRS / GSM configuration

 

 

 

 
GSM PIN code 
 
The PIN code of the SIM card. This is were you enter the PIN code of the SIM card. It is possible to change 
the PIN code by placing the SIM card in a mobile telephone and entering a new code. 
 
Roaming 
 
It is possible to activate roaming in the AlphaCom XL. In the default settings roaming is disabled. Roaming 
is only necessary when using a GPRS provider that does not have its own GSM/GPRS network but uses 
networks from other providers. Roaming however does have a certain risk. When installing an installation 
close to the border, roaming can cause the GPRS module to connect to GSM/GPRS providers just over the 
border and thus causing high calling costs. Make sure you clearly inform your customer of the risks involved 
when using roaming !. We advise to use a local GSM/GPRS provider that has its own network.
