ip pim ssm
Overview
Use this command to define the Source Specific Multicast (SSM) range of IP
multicast addresses. The default keyword defines the SSM range as 232/8.
To define the SSM range to be other than the default, use the access-list parameter
option.
Use the
no
variant of this command to disable the SSM range.
Syntax
ip pim ssm default
ip pim ssm range {<
access-list

no ip pim ssm

By default, the command is disabled.

Usage
When an SSM range of IP multicast addresses is defined by the ip pim ssm
command, the no (*,G) or (S,G,rpt) state will be initiated for groups in the SSM
range.
The messages corresponding to these states will not be accepted or originated in
the SSM range.
Examples
The following commands show how to configure SSM service for the IP address
range defined by access list 10:
awplus#
configure terminal
awplus(config)#
access-list 10 permit 225.1.1.1
awplus(config)#
ip pim ssm range 10
The following commands show how to set PIM-SSM as default:
