Troubleshooting
This chapter provides suggestions on how to troubleshoot the IE048-480
Power Supply should a problem occur.

Problem 1: The ALARM and DC_OK LEDs are both off.
Possible causes of this state are listed here:

The AC power source of the power supply is turned off or has a
technical problem.

The IE048-480 Power Supply has overheated because of
inadequate convection cooling or high ambient temperature.

The DC output connectors were turned off with the RC connector.

Positive and negative voltages on the DC Output connectors are
shorted.

The power supply has a technical problem.
Solutions: Try the following:

Verify that the AC circuit breaker is On.

Try connecting another device to the AC circuit breaker to verify
that it has power.

Measure the output power on the AC circuit breaker to confirm that
it is within the supported range of the power supply. Refer to
“Power Specifications” on page 67.

Measure the ambient temperature of the site to determine whether
the IE048-480 Power Supply shut down because of high
temperature. Refer to “Derating Graph - Operating Properties and
Ambient Temperature” on page 70.

Verify that the power supply is installed vertically and that there is
adequate spacing between it and adjacent devices. Refer to
“Power Supply Orientation” on page 44.


DC output connectors, try using the RC connectors to turn on the
