Section 5 Service Procedures
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, explosion, serious injury or death:
• Disconnect electric power to the dryer(s) before servicing.
• Close gas shut-off valve to gas dryer(s) before servicing.
• Never start the dryer(s) with any guards/panels removed.
• Whenever ground wires are removed during servicing, these ground wires must be
reconnected to ensure that the dryer is properly grounded.

To Test Light Switch:
1. Remove control panel, and lift assembly off
panel support. Refer to Figure 8.
2. Disconnect all wires from light switch.
NOTE: Refer to appropriate wiring diagram
when rewiring switch.
3. Set meter to read Ohms and put probes into
terminals for two red wires. Meter should read
“infinite.”
4. Press light switch and meter should give “zero”
reading.
5. Insert probes of meter into terminals for black
wire and yellow/black wire.
6. Meter may read EITHER “infinite” or “zero.”
Press light switch and meter reading should
register opposite from what it was when probes
were first inserted. Meter reading should reverse
each time light switch is pressed.
