Section 5 Service Procedures
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, explosion, serious injury or death:
• Disconnect electric power to the tumbler before servicing.
• Close gas shut-off valve to gas tumbler before servicing.
• Close steam valve to steam tumbler before servicing.
• Never start the tumbler with any guards/panels removed.
• Whenever ground wires are removed during servicing, these ground wires must be
reconnected to ensure that the tumbler is properly grounded.

53. CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove front panel assembly.
b. Remove cylinder belt and drive belt. Refer to
c. Remove cylinder sheave. Refer to Figure 16.
d. Loosen setscrews on trunnion bearings. Refer
e. Pull cylinder through front of cabinet.
NOTE: When removing cylinder out through front
of cabinet, spread cabinet slightly so cylinder will
clear cabinet sides.
NOTE: After reinstalling drive and cylinder belts,
adjust belts.
NOTE: After installing cylinder and shaft, adjust
cylinder.
54. TRUNNION BEARINGS
a. Remove front panel assembly.
b. Place blocks under cylinder that will hold it
level while trunnion bearings are being
serviced.
c. Remove cylinder sheave.
d. Loosen the front and rear adjusting screws.
e. Loosen setscrews holding bearings to shaft.
f. Remove bearing mounting screws.
g. Remove rear bearing. Refer to Figure 18.
h. Remove screws holding mounting bracket to
tumbler. Refer to Figure 18.
i. Remove mounting bracket.
j. Remove front bearing mounting nuts.
k. Loosen setscrews holding bearing to shaft.
l. Remove front bearing. Refer to Figure 18.
