Introduction
Starting and Operating the RGU
Figure 1.4 shows the process that should be used to start a unit which has
been serviced. If the unit is set for local mode, the unit will automatically
enable when started.

Prestart Inspection

S et P8 (R em ote/Local S elector) to 0.
ì
R eset or restart the unit.
A signal m ust be applied to TB5-1
(isolation board) for the u nit to
enable (i.e. by tim er relay ).
ì
S et P224 (S C A N port Port Enable
M ask) and P225 (S C A N port Enable
M ask) to 0100 0111.
ì
S et P8 (R em ote/Local S elector) to 1.
ì
Enable the unit w ith a H IM , G PT, or
other connected S C A N port device.
ì
Verify that all tools and debris are
out of the unit.
ì
W ith disconnect off, check the
line-to-ground and line-to-line A C
voltage in the unit (shou ld be
zero).
ì
C heck the line-to-groun d
resistance before and after the
m ain contactor (should be high).
ì
C heck the bus-to-groun d
resistance for each D C bus (should
be high).
ì
C heck the line-to-line A C voltage
ahead of the breaker (s hould
com ply w ith the input rating of the
unit).
ì
Push disconnect to on.
ì
C heck the line-to-ground voltage
betw een F7 and ground (should be
about 120V A C ).
ì
Turn start sw itch to on.
ì
C heck the follow ing param eters:
