Organizing Tags

Create a Tag
The Tag Editor window lets you create and edit tags by using a spreadsheet-style
view of the tags.
Follow these steps to create a tag by using the Logix Designer application.
1.
On the Controller Organizer, right-click Controller Tags and choose
Edit
Tags
.
The Tag Editor window appears.
2.
Choose a scope for the tag.
3.
Type a name, data type, and description
(optional) for the tag.
4.
Specify the External Access and Constant attributes.

Adding Extended Properties to a Tag
To add extended properties to a tag:
1.
Select the tag in the Tag Editor.
2.
In the Tag Properties pane, check the properties that you want to add from
the Extended Properties list.
IMPORTANT
The Logix Designer application also automatically creates tags when you:

Add an element to a sequential function chart (SFC).
–
Add a function block instruction to a function block diagram.
