2. If the embedded CompactFlash or microdrive will be a slave drive (such
as D:), you do not need to make any adjustments to the drive or the
adapter. If the CompactFlash or microdrive will be a master drive, you
need to add a jumper to the adapter as shown below.
Depending on the hard drive in your PC, you might have to add a jumper
to make it a master drive (C:). Check the documentation for your hard
drive.
3. Insert the CompactFlash or microdrive into the adapter. The card guides
on the adapter are keyed; do not force the CompactFlash or microdrive
into the adapter.
4. Turn off power to the PC and install the CompactFlash adapter in the
computer.
5. Use heavy duty, double-sided tape to attach the adapter to any flat
surface in the PC to avoid accidental shorting of the exposed leads on a
metal surface on the PC.
