7.7.4 Brightness Adjustment
There are different ways to adjust the brightness. It is important to read this section carefully
to understand how to optimize using the brightness function. The easiest way to adjust the
brightness of the camera is with the iris of the lens. Please note that the quality of the image
is best when the iris is as closed as possible (best depth of field).
All other adjustments for brightness are executed in the menu camera settings.

scan rate doubling (see below)
7.7.5 eXtremLuX (L)
(OPTIc3-PRO)
eXtremLuX helps improving the picture quality at bad light con-
ditions. This function is also available as upgrade for the OP-
TIc3.
7.7.5.1 Night mode
(OPTIc3-PRO)
<Night mode> brightens up the picture by about 50 % using a special technology. The picture
quality slightly decreases when <Night mode> is activated.
7.7.5.2 Flicker Reduction
(OPTIc3-PRO)
Artificial light with alternating current has dark and bright phases. The human eye is too slow
to notice these changing light conditions since it happens 100 times per second. The photo
finish camera scans the finish line much faster and the dark and bright phases are shown. In
order to obtain constant brightness and better picture quality this function reduces the flicker-
ing.
7.7.5.3 Noise Reduction
(OPTIc3-PRO)
The <Noise Reduction> reduces the increased noise in case of bad light conditions.
