SOY BRAISED BEEF

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons Carlini Vegetable Oil, divided
3.5 pounds USDA Choice Chuck Roast, cut into 6 pieces
Stonemill Iodized Salt, to taste
Stonemill Ground Black Pepper, to taste
3 tablespoons chopped ginger
2 tablespoons chopped garlic
3 cups packed SimplyNature Organic Kale
1 cup Fusia Soy Sauce
3 cups Chef’s Cupboard Beef Broth
¼ teaspoon Stonemill Crushed Red Pepper
2 tablespoons Baker’s Corner Brown Sugar
¼ cup lime juice
2 cups broccoli florets
2 cups ribboned carrots
½ cup bias cut green onions
½ cup packed cilantro
Directions:
1. In a cast iron braising pan, heat 3 tablespoons oil over medium-low
heat.
2. Season the beef with salt and pepper to taste. Sear the beef on all
sides, remove from pan and reserve.
3. Add the remaining tablespoon oil, ginger and garlic. Cook for 1 minute
then add the kale, cook until tender.
4. Add the soy sauce, beef broth, crushed red pepper and brown sugar.
Stir until well combined. Top with the beef, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to
a simmer, cover and cook for 3 hours until tender over very low heat.
5. Shred the beef with a fork. Add the lime juice and broccoli, cover and
cook 10 minutes.
6. Add the carrots, green onions and cilantro. Stir before serving.
