Figure 5-10 Securing the cable clamp

Open the cable clamp and place it around the looped fiber cables.

Secure the cable clamp to the Control card mounting post with the #4-40 screw
(1/2 in.).

Procedure 5-5 To remove an E1 Optical LIM

The E1 Optical LIM can be removed without removing the fiber cable.

Ensure that the unit is turned off and that the power cord is unplugged.

Remove the two screws that secure the module to the mounting posts on the Control
card.

Hold the module by the edges nearest to its connector and gently pull the module
off the Control card.

Turn the module over and disconnect the fiber cable connector.

Reinsert the screws into the posts.

Remove the module’s label from the configuration record.

Warning —

To prevent damage to the fiber cable, handle it with

care and ensure that the minimum bend radius for the cable is 3 cm
(1 1/4 in.).
