Make the protecting connection.
where
pp
is the interface module for the protected circuit, either 1 or 9
p
is the primary rate module for the protecting circuit, 1 or 2
c
is the circuit number, 1 to 31 (for primary rate), or 1, 2, A or B (for interface module)
A protecting connection can be made from the perspective of the protected circuit
(PROT_BY) or the protecting circuit (PROTECTING). For example, if P2-1 is the
protecting circuit for circuit 1-1, you can configure the protection connection by
entering:
CONFIG — CONNECT <1-1>
↵
— PROT_BY — <P2-1>
↵
or
CONFIG — CONNECT <P2-1>
↵
— PROTECTING — <1-1>
↵

Disconnecting connections
To disconnect a connection, specify one of the circuits. If the connection is protected,
the softkeys PREFERRED and PROTECTION appear. The preferred and protected
connections are disconnected independently.
You can make disconnections one at a time or all at once.

Note 1 —
The DISCONNECT softkey appears only when the
specified circuit is cross-connected to another circuit or CPSS.
Selecting DISCONNECT breaks the existing connection without
defining another one.
Note 2 —
Selecting CONFIG — CONNECT — <Esc>
DISCONN_ALL disconnects all interface circuits or cross-connect
circuits, including super-rate connections; however, it does not
disconnect bypass or CPSS connections.
