OPTIONS > Text Mode

Messages
You can create, edit and receive SMS and MMS.
The MMS function can only be used if the
service is provided by your operator, if
your contract includes an MMS option.
6.1
Types of Messages
The
Short Message Service (SMS)
allows you
to send and receive text messages to and from
other mobile phones.
To use this feature, you may need to subscribe to
your service provider’s message service.
The
Multimedia Message Service (MMS)
allows you to send and receive multimedia mes-
sages (such as picture messages) to and from
other mobile phones.
To use this feature, you may need to subscribe
to your service provider’s multimedia message
service.
6.1.1
Preset Messages
Gives you the option to send commonly used
messages to save time.
From the main menu, select
Messages > Set-
tings > Preset Messages.
You can use/delete
the existing messages, or add new messages in
this group.

Creating and Sending New Text
Messages
a From the main menu, select
Messages >
Send
message
.
b Press
Go to Contacts
to select a contact and
write a text message.
c Press
SEND
(Left softkey)/ key to send the
message.

Creating and Sending New
Multimedia Messages
An SMS will be converted to MMS automatically
when pictures or sounds are included.
An SMS message of more than a certain
number of characters (the number of
characters depends on your language)
will be charged as several SMS mes-
sages. An MMS message containing pho-
tos and/or sounds may also be billed as
more than one message. Specific letters
(accented) will increase the size of the
SMS, which may also cause multiple SMS
messages to be sent to your recipient.
