Overview

Purpose

This chapter describes how to insert a pluggable transmission module (PTM) into a 1665 
Data Multiplexer (1665 DMX) circuit pack. PTMs are sometimes referred to as SFP 
(small form pluggable) modules.

CAUTION

Laser Safety

When connecting fiber loops between the IN and OUT ports on optical circuit 
packs, always connect to the IN port first and then the OUT port. This will 
prevent any optical radiation from being present at the fiber end.
