MAINTENANCE
To protect the battery against discharge from non-use, it must be disconnected and fully charged before
being stored.
Maintain the supply battery in accordance with the specifications of its battery manufacturer.
Regularly check the rollers on the travel unit and if necessary clean off any coarse dirt.
Do not clean the manoeuvring tool with a direct, powerful water jet. (e.g. high-pressure cleaner, etc.)
Regularly check the distance between the rollers and tyres. In the neutral (fully released) position, this
should be around 20 mm.
Maintain and document your manoeuvring tool once a year. This inspection should include all screw and
nut connections, cable and electrical connections, as well as lubrication of moving parts.
Make sure the terminal clamps are firmly in place.
CAUTION!
If faults or problems occur, notify your AL-KO manoeuvring tool supplier!
Help in case of malfunctions
If your manoeuvring tool should ever not function, please proceed as follows:
The unit is not working at all:
Check that the battery disconnection switch (28) is switched on.
Check the cable connection between the caravan battery and the
control unit.
Check the fuse (80A) in the red positive battery cable (Fig. 14).
If the fuse is faulty, it must be replaced with a fuse of the same
strength (80A). Never bridge the fuse (contact your AL-KO sup-
plier if necessary). To change the fuse, the power supply to the
control unit must first be interrupted. Disconnect the positive cable
of the power supply from the control unit. Only now should you
undo the fastening screws holding the fuse in place (Fig. 14A),
then replace the fuse (Fig. 14B) and screw the fastening screws
back in tightly. Close the housing on the fuse again. Finally, the
positive cable can be reconnected to the control unit.
Check the battery in your remote control. If it is flat, replace the
9V battery.
The caravan battery could be flat. If it is, recharge it fully first.
The caravan battery could be overloaded. Check your charger. Try
to discharge the battery a little with an additional consumer (light
or another 12V load). If this does not resolve the problem, replace
the battery before taking any other measures.
Ensure that the distance between the remote control and the car-
avan is no more than 5 metres. If there is no signal between the
remote control and the control unit, the manoeuvring tool will not
function and the green LED on the remote control will flash.
