SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Safety instructions for installation
DANGER!
Danger from accidental movement!
Never lie or bend down under an unsecured vehicle! Before carrying out any maintenance or
cleaning work, remove the drives from the wheels (apply the caravan’s handbrake). Secure the
remote control against unauthorised operation.
Before starting installation under the caravan:
Check carefully whether your caravan or trailer has a sufficient payload for the additional weight of the
manoeuvring tool (see the type plate on the caravan). The manoeuvring tool itself weighs around 37 kg
and the conventional AGM battery weighs around 20 - 25 kg, while lithium ions weigh approx. 6 kg.
Carefully check the manoeuvring tool’s minimum installation dimensions (Fig. 2).
Ensure that the caravan is disconnected from the battery and main power supply.
Only use the adapter and accessories supplied by the manufacturer.
Ensure that the tyres are not worn and that they are all the same size.
ADVICE
The manoeuvring tool works best when new or almost-new tyres are used.
Check that the tyre pressure matches the manufacturer's recommendations.
Ensure that the chassis is in good condition and free from damage, rust and dirt, etc.
Stop working immediately if you have any doubts regarding the correctness of the installation or manner
of working and contact one of our engineers straight away.
Position the battery disconnection switch so that it is always accessible when you are parking and
manoeuvring the caravan.
Do not remove or change any parts of the chassis, axles, wheel suspension or brakes. The drilling of
holes in the chassis is not permitted.
Do not install or operate the device if you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medicines, or your
ability to operate the device could be impaired.
If you notice any visible defects, please contact the nearest AL-KO service point.
Ensure the tyre pressures are as prescribed.
Note the applicable national regulations regarding the profile depth.
Remove all foreign bodies from the drives.
Do not remove any foreign bodies by force. If necessary, tighten the handbrake and reset the drives.
