Cooling water system

6.14.2 Cleaning the water filter

Water filter

It is not necessary to remove the filter from the pipe line to clean it. Instead, 
the filter is cleaned via a manual back washing procedure.

Proceed as follows to clean the water filter:

1

Put a container under the drain (item E) of the filter. You may also con-
nect a hose to the drain as shown in the figure above.

Turn the rotary basket (item D) counterclockwise until it is fully open. 
This will open the ball valve and rinse the filter.

3

Rinse the filter for 20…25 s

4

To end the cleaning process, turn the rotary knob back to its original 
position

5

Check to make sure that no water leaks out of the drain anymore

WARNING!

The cooling water circuit contains substances (e.g. biocide) which can 
be harmful to your health.

Wear protective gloves and goggles. Dispose cooling water as hazard-
ous waste according to the local regulations.
