Supply water requirements for humidification systems
The performance and safety of a humidification system is depending on a clean water supply. Below table is showing the minimum requirements for a water supply.
These water parameters do not exclude the need for different type of water treatment. This only represents an acceptable baseline.

Short description to Physical/chemical parameters.
Hardness:
Iron, manganese, calcium and magnesium are all part of total water hardness. So to determine what softener to choose, you need:
•
dH° + Iron + Manganese
or
•
C Mag Iron + Manganese.
Max value is in the diagram above.
If the hardness is present in another value than dH°, you need to convert it from for example: gr/gal or mmol.
Sodium Na
+
:
Sodium is element no. 11 in the periodic system. Normally it is present in water as SodiumChloride, or SodiumBicarbonate (salt and soda).
Sodium can be removed with RO water filtration with up to 99% removal.
Atomized Sodium in high consentration can be visible as white shiny dust
Potassium K
+
:
Potassium in the water can be sign of pollution of some kind. Otherwise there is no taste, health or disadvantage with a level above drinking water standart max value. <
10mg/l.
