Checking the axle bearing
After the first 200 hours of operation at full load, then every 1500 hours.
Make sure that the wheel bearings do not wobble. This check is performed by lifting the axle.
Use the jack to raise it until the wheel is off the ground and spins freely. Place a lever between
the ground and the tire and push the wheel up to check for play.
Adjustment of the bearing clearance:
- remove the cover of the hub flange and remove all screws
- Remove the flexible stop pin of the nut
- Tighten the castle nut while turning the wheel until the hub is slightly braked.
- turn the castle nut until the groove on the spindle is free
- Insert the locking pin and make sure that the hub can be turned by hand with slight resistance
- refill the lubricant and replace the hub cap
- If the gasket is damaged, replace it with a genuine BPW replacement gasket.
14.2.1.1.4
Brake lever travel adjustment
Brake lever travel inspection and any adjustments should be performed every 500 hours of
operation or sooner if needed.
Make sure that the rods of the brake cylinder do not move more than 40-45 mm during full
braking.
The stroke is adjusted by loosening the screw (see picture) and moving the brake lever forward
or backward by one tooth as needed.
A shift in the direction of the brake cylinder means an increase in the braking force in the
corresponding head. Reverse repositioning has the opposite effect. The lever must be in the
non-retracted position in the first third of the brake cylinder travel and allow the brakes to
rotate freely. The braking action must not take place in the end position of the brake cylinder.
