Removal Procedure
for this procedure.

2.
Disconnect the power cord.
3.
Remove the covers from the signal generator. Refer to
.
4.
Remove the rear panel from the signal generator. Refer to
”Rear Panel (N5162A/82A)” on page 3-24
NOTE
The rear panel must be removed to allow the pin connector on the A2 Vector Module to be disconnected from the A3 RF assembly
without damaging the connector pins.
5.
Place the signal generator flat with the A2 Vector Module facing up and the rear panel facing you.
6.
Using the 5/16” open-ended wrench, disconnect W5, W6, and W7.
7.
Use the needle-nose pliers to disconnect the following cables according to the signal generator you have.

N5162A: W19 (I Input) from A3J15 and W20 (Q Input) from A3J16. (shown in
•
N5182A: W3 (I Input) from A3J15 and W4 (Q Input) from A3J16.
8.
Using the T-10 driver, remove the five screws (1) that connect the A2 Vector Module to the chassis.
9.
Place your thumbs under the BNC connectors and push up on the A2 Vector Module to release it from the pin connector.
10. Remove the A2 Vector Module.
Replacement Procedure
1.
Reverse the order of the removal procedure.
2.
Torque all T-10 screws to 9 in–lbs.
3.
Torque all BNC connectors to 8 in–lbs.
