To Install the CI/Extractor Interface Tip Seal

Materials needed

•

Interface tip seal (G1999-60412)

The interface tip seal must be in place for the CI ion source and the 
Extraction source. 

Procedure

1

Verify that the EI extractor ion source or CI ion source is installed. This tip 
seal must not be installed when a standard EI SST source or EI Inert 
source is installed.

2

Remove the CI/Extractor tip seal from the ion source storage box and place 
it over the end of the interface.

C A U T I O N

Electrostatic discharges to analyzer components are conducted to the side board 
where they can damage sensitive components. Wear a grounded antistatic wrist strap  
and take other antistatic precautions 

before

 you open the analyzer chamber.
