Appendix A. Serial Communications Option
Eyesys serial communications option allows remote status checking and remote control of
calibration and setpoint. The Eyesys can be checked for the status of any parameter whether
it has been set to Local or Remote Control, but it must be placed in Remote Control to be
commanded to change settings.
Communication Setup
It is suggested that communication be initially established and tested using Microsoft
®
Terminal, Hyperterminal or equivalent before connecting to an untested command device.
Switching from Local to Remote
❑ When remote commands put Eyesys in remote control, the local controls and
setpoint switches are inoperative
❑ Each setpoint remains at the last local switch setting until changed by a remote
setpoint command
Switching from Remote to Local
❑ Upon selecting Local Control, the setpoints are immediately changed to the local
switch settings
❑ Setpoints respond only to the controls on the Eyesys box.
Local/Remote Status
Eyesys will power up in whatever Local/Remote status the system was in when last powered
down.
