E4419B Power Meter User’s Guide

91

Programming Language Selection

You can select one of the two languages to program the power meter from the 
remote interface. The language is SCPI when the power meter is shipped from 
the factory. The other language is the Agilent 438A programming language.

The power meter complies with the rules and regulations of the 1995.0 version 
of SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments). You can 
determine the SCPI version with which the power meter is in compliance by 
sending the 

SYSTem:VERSion?

 command from the remote interface. You 

cannot query the SCPI version from the front panel.

The language selection is stored in nonvolatile memory and does not change 
when power has been off or after a remote interface reset.

To select the interface language from the front panel:
