In-Wall Smart Energy Switch Receiver

Art.no 36-5744

Model DSC18103-ZWEU

Please read the entire instruction manual before using the product and then save it for future
reference. We reserve the right for any errors in text or images and any necessary changes
made to technical data. In the event of technical problems or other queries, please contact our
Customer Services.

Things to consider:

•  Other wireless equipment using the same frequency band can reduce the transmission range.
•  The range of all wireless equipment depends on the type of obstacles located between

the transmitter and the receiver (e.g. a concrete wall will interfere with the signal more than
a plasterboard wall).

If you experience problems, try the following:

•  Turn off any other existing wireless equipment to check whether this is the cause of

the problem.

•  Reposition the wireless equipment, shorten the distance between the transmitter and

the receiver or reduce the number of obstacles (walls, furniture, etc.) between them.

Product description

•  Remote control switch for flush-mounting behind in-wall appliance switches. Works with

Zipabox Duo and other Z-wave-system products, regardless of make.

•  Supports 2-way communications, enabling it to report the status of the remote controlled

device so you can see whether or not it is on.

•  Measures the energy consumption of the connected device and reports this information back

to the Z-wave control unit.

•  Controlled by smartphone or tablet via a gateway like the Zipabox Duo or directly via

a separate remote control (sold separately).

•  Also equipped with a built-in repeater function which allows other remote receivers to more

readily receive signals by repeating the signals it receives from the gateway or remote control.

Installation

Note:

This switch is designed to be hard-wired behind a wall switch. If you are at all unsure about

any aspect of the installation, let a qualified electrician undertake the work.
1.  Set your Z-wave control device to learning mode.
2.  Push the button on the front of the receiver to connect it to your existing Z-wave network.

Note:

The LED indicator on the receiver will either shine steadily or be off (depending on

whether the connected switch is off or on) if the receiver is connected to your existing Z-wave
network. The LED indicator will flash slowly if the receiver is

not

 connected to your existing

Z-wave network.

3.  You can also use the connected switch, instead of pressing the button on the front of

the receiver, to connect the receiver to your existing Z-wave network.

4.  You can switch the receiver on and off using the button on the front when it is connected to

your existing Z-wave network.

5.  The receiver is factory preset to work with a 2-pole toggle switch. Hold the button on the front

of the receiver in for 6 seconds to setup the receiver to work with a push-button switch.

Uninstallation

Set your Z-wave control device to the device-removal mode.
Uninstall the receiver by switching the connected switch on and off 10 times in quick succession
or pressing the button on the receiver.

The reset feature

Hold in the button on the receiver for 20 seconds.
