8 Glossary
Class I
A class of electrical safety in which protection against electric
shock is provided by basic insulation and the connection of
exposed conductive parts accessible to contact with the
protective conductor of the fixed wiring. The unit must be
plugged into a dedicated outlet with a grounding contact.
WEEE
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment means used
electrical or electronic equipment, including all components,
subassemblies, consumables that are part of the equipment at
the time it is taken out of service (including batteries/batteries
(if any), components containing mercury, etc.)
Plug type E/F
Plug with flat grounding contacts on both sides for connection
to a CEE 7/4 receptacle and a socket contact for a CEE 7/5
receptacle grounding pin. Typically used in the following
countries: Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany,
Georgia, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Lithuania,
Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia,
Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia.
Plug type G
Polarized three-pin plug with ground connection, equipped
with a fuse that protects the phase conductor. Typically used in
the Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the island of
Cyprus.
