S21 (Two-port) Operation
Two port or S21 operation is used if you are testing a two-port device, such as a filter or an
attenuator. Calibration is also required in this case, and it is very similar to the procedure used for the
single-port measurement.
Enter the frequency using the Frequency Settings box, as shown on page 25.
Select S21 in the Sweep Type box:
Click the S11 Button in the calibrate box, apply the Open-short-load, same as for S
11
.
Then do Thru-- Press the S21 calibrate button:
Connect the Through cable between the S11 and S21 ports, then start The S21 Calibration:
Connect the unit under test (UUT) via the cables you used for through calibration, and Click Plot:
