This phase comprises of HW/SW integration, application development, and periph-
eral module implementation. Due to the lack of knowledge and experience on plat-
forms, customers need to spend a certain amount of time analyzing integration
problems. As peripheral module implementation has a lot to do with driver designs on
carrier boards, RISC platforms usually have less support for ready-made drivers on
the carrier board. Customers have to learn from trial and error and finally get the best

Validation stage
