SCRUB SYSTEM
SCRUB BRUSH DECK REMOVAL
Lower the scrub deck with the brushes installed. Turn the key switch off and disconnect the battery pack.
1
Lift up and remove the cover and nose cone from the front of the machine.
2
See Figure 2.
3
Disconnect the Solution Hose
(O)
from the scrub deck.
Unplug both brush motors wire assembles.
4
Note:
You may need to cut cable ties.
Remove the Scrub Brush Lift Actuator by following the steps in the
5
Scrub Brush lift Actuator Removal
section below.
Service Note
: It is important not to run the actuator motor or the rotate the spring housing assembly on the lead screw while the Lift Actuator Assembly is disconnected from the
scrub brush deck or chassis mounts. This precaution will prevent the actuator drive nut from getting out of adjustment (moved out of its set speci
fi
cation) and will maintain the correct
actuator “IN”/“OUT” travel limits.
Remove the Cotter Hairpin
6
(Q)
and washer that hold the Mounting Boss
(R)
on the deck weldment to the (short) Linkage Arm
(S)
.
Remove the two Ring Pins
7
(T)
that attach the scrub deck to the (long) Linkage Arms
(U)
, then rotate the Linkage Arms
(U)
out of the way.
Slide the deck toward the right (operator’s left) until the Mounting Boss
8
(R)
is clear of the (short) Linkage Arm
(S)
. Pull the deck forward away from the machine to complete the
removal. Note the location of the Bushing
(EE)
on the Mounting Boss
(R)
when you remove the deck.
To reinstall a scrub deck, follow the above steps in reverse order.
9
Note:
Make sure the bushing is installed correctly on the Mounting Boss
(R)
before you slide the Mounting Boss into the hole in the (short) Linkage Arm
(S)
.
SCRUB BRUSH MOTOR REMOVAL
Lower the scrub deck with the brushes installed. Turn the key switch off and disconnect the battery pack.
1
Lift up and remove the cover and nose cone from the front of the machine.
2
See Figure 2.
3
Remove the Cotter Pins
(W)
(two per Side Skirt) and remove the Side Skirt
(V)
.
Remove the Phillips screw, washer and bushing and remove the Belt Guard
4
(X)
from the machine.
Disconnect the motor wiring plug and loosen the large hose clamp from around the motor.
5
Remove the three Screws
6
(Y)
and slide the motor out.
Note:
The belt can be removed at this time.
Reassemble in reverse order.
7
Note:
The belts are self-tensioning – no adjustment is needed.
SCRUB BRUSH BELT REPLACEMENT
Lower the scrub deck with the brushes installed. Turn the key switch off and disconnect the battery pack.
1
Lift up and remove the cover and nose cone from the front of the machine.
2
See Figure 2.
3
Remove the Cotter Pins
(W)
(two per Side Skirt) and remove the Side Skirt
(V)
.
Remove the Phillips screw, washer and bushing and remove the Belt Guard
4
(X)
from the machine.
See the detailed drawing in Figure 2.
5
Thread the Phillips screw and bushing removed from the Belt Guard into the Brush Pulley
(Z)
as shown.
Rotate the Brush Pulley
6
(Z)
until the Phillips screw is at the 6 o’clock position as shown.
Place the belt on the Motor Pulley
7
(AA)
and Brush Pulley
(Z)
as much as possible, making sure the belt is hooked on the Phillips screw with bushing as much as possible.
Insert a #2 Phillips head screwdriver into the
fi
rst guide hole
8
(BB)
in the Brush Pulley
(Z)
and rotate the Brush Pulley clockwise until the screwdriver tops out.
Insert a second #2 Phillips screwdriver into the second guide hole in the Brush Pulley
9
(Z)
, remove
fi
rst screwdriver, then continue turning the Brush Pulley clockwise until belt is on
the pulley.
Remove the second screwdriver and turn the Brush Pulley
10
(Z)
by hand to align the belt grooves to the pulley grooves.
Remove Phillips screw and bushing from the Brush Pulley
11
(Z)
, then reinstall the Belt Guard
(X)
onto the machine.
Note: Do not overtighten.
Reinstall the Side Skirt
12
(V)
.
SCRUB BRUSH SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
The scrubbing system must be serviced at regular intervals to maintain good scrubbing performance. Follow the maintenance steps listed below.
Rinse clean any built-up debris from the debris hopper drain holes (daily).
1
Clean the drain holes in the solution delivery trough on top of the scrub deck (weekly).
2
Clean any built-up dirt from the inside of the scrub brush housing (weekly).
3
Remove any string wrapped around the scrub brushes, drive hubs and idler hubs (weekly).
4
Remove both scrub brushes and rotate, turn end for end (weekly). See the
5
Scrub Brush Removal and Installation
section below.
SCRUB BRUSH REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Turn the key switch off and disconnect the battery pack.
1
See Figure 2.
2
Loosen the black knob holding the Idler End Assembly
(CC)
to the brush housing and pull the Idler End Assembly down and out to remove it from the deck
housing.
Grip the scrub brush and slide it out of the end of the deck housing.
3
To install the brush, slide it into the housing, lift slightly, then push and turn the brush until it seats into the drive end assembly.
4
Reinstall the Idler End Assembly
5
(CC)
into the deck housing, then tighten the black knob.
SCRUB BRUSH LIFT ACTUATOR REMOVAL
With scrub brushes installed, lower the scrub deck, turn the key off and disconnect the battery pack
1
.
Note:
If the lift actuator motor will not run, go to step 2, then shim up the brush deck to remove the weight on the Hitch Pin
(P)
.
Remove the front nose cone by
fi
rmly grasping the lower part and lifting straight up.
2
Disconnect the actuator motor wiring harness pigtail connector.
3
See Figure 2.
4
Remove the Hitch Pin
(P)
. Note that removing the Pin may be easier if you lift up on the actuator spring housing to take pressure off of the Pin.
Remove the Ring Pin
5
(DD)
from the upper actuator mount weldment and remove the actuator assembly from the machine.
Important Service Note:
After removing the actuator motor and before installing a new motor or drive nut, you must check the IN and OUT limit switches and set them to their correct
speci
fi
cations if necessary. Refer to the
Electrical System/Actuator Drive Nut Adjustment
section in this manual and follow the instructions before replacing the actuator assembly.
After checking/setting the drive nut adjustments for the scrub brush lift actuator assembly, follow the removal steps above in reverse order to reassemble.
