Mounting the DCF1HU-P to an Rack or Cabinet
This subsection describes the procedure that must be followed in order to mount
the DCF1HU-P Shelf to a rack or cabinet (in the following referred to as rack).
General Considerations
When mounting your DCF1HU-P Shelf to a rack, consider the following:
•
For information about mounting the DCF1HU-P Shelf to your rack, see the
instructions from the rack manufacturers.
•
Do not put any other shelf on the DCF1HU-P Shelf before mounting to the
rack. Every shelf should be mounted immediately after fitting the adaptor
brackets.
•
Avoid mounting the DCF1HU-P Shelf in an overly congested rack.
•
The DCF1HU-P Shelf can be mounted under a 1HU or 7HU equipment
shelf that it is serving. The shelf numbering does not change, i.e. the
DCF1HU-P Shelf does not have a shelf number. It is unmanaged.
•
Due to its larger depth, the DCF1HU-P Shelf always has always to be
mounted in the lowest position in the case of cabinet mounting, so that the
air flow in the cabinet is not inhibited. Normally, the shelves are stacked in
the rack directly on top of each other with no space between. The
DCF1HU-P Shelf makes an exception.
