Unit and value conversion in 
text boxes

 

You can enter values using any unit of 
measure, or any arithmetic expression, 
into a numeric text box. Version 6.0 
automatically calculates the value of 
arithmetic expressions, and converts 
all units to the preset unit. For example, 
if you enter “1 in + 1 cm” into a text field 
set to points, Illustrator converts the 
entry to 100.346 points.
