Using the drag and drop feature to
import and export artwork
The drag and drop feature lets you copy
and move artwork by dragging a selec-
tion of artwork between an Illustrator
document and another document, or
the desktop. You can use the drag and
drop feature in the following ways:
• You can drag and drop selections of
artwork between Illustrator documents.
• You can drag and drop selections of
artwork between Adobe Illustrator and
the desktop. Selections are copied to the
desktop as picture clippings, which can
be dragged and dropped into the
desired document.
You can drag and drop selections of
artwork between Adobe Illustrator and
Adobe Photoshop. By default, selected
objects are copied as bitmap images
to the active layer. You can also copy
selected paths from Illustrator to Photo-
shop by holding down the Command
key.
