Unlinking and removing type
containers
You can unlink type containers to
change their
Stacking order without
affecting the flow of type. However, to
return the type to its original object, you
must cut and paste the type. To delete a
single or unlinked type container with-
out deleting the type within it, copy and
paste the text elsewhere, and then
delete the container.
To unlink linked type containers:

Select the selection tool .

Drag to surround the type containers
to be unlinked, or click with the selec-
tion tool.

Choose Type > Unlink Blocks.
To remove or replace a linked type
container without deleting the type:

Select the group-selection tool .

Click the edge of the type container
you want to remove.
