Choosing a type size
You can choose the type size in the
Character palette, from the Size sub-
menu in the Type menu, or by using key-
board commands. The default type size
is 12 points. Type size is always mea-
sured in points. (One point is equal to
1/72 of an inch.) When you change the
type size, the
Info palette
displays the
new type size.
To choose a type size in the Character
palette:

Select any type container or type path
using a selection tool, or set an insertion
point or select a range of text using the
type tool
.

Choose Type > Character. The Charac-
ter palette appears, displaying the
currently selected type size in the Size
text box.
If the selection contains fonts of more
than one size, the text box is blank.
