Importing Microsoft Word® into
FrameMaker 7.0
With FrameMaker 7.0, you can easily import documents from other applications, such as
the latest versions of Microsoft Office
®
, for which there is an installed filter. You can now
import Word 97/98/2000 files into FrameMaker in just a few simple steps. You can choose
to retain the Word document’s formatting or reformat the text using the current
FrameMaker document’s catalog.
Importing the latest versions of Microsoft Excel
®
files is also easy and takes just a few
simple steps. You must select the Excel 97/98/2000 filter upon importing. For example, if
you saved your Office 97 Excel document as a Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 Workbook file, you
must import it using the Excel 5.0 filter because the Excel 97/98/2000 filter will not open
it.
The intent here is to address the migrating Word user, who may have concerns about the
complexities of FrameMaker. This would be a page of specifics about the Word and
Office-related filters.
