MLT844 Physiological Pressure
Transducer Series
Description
The MLT844 Physiological Pressure Transducer is a highly
accurate and robust piezo-resistive transducer. The dome is
easy to fill and is quickly coupled to the transducer without
any liquid between the transducer and dome diaphragms.
This ensures the transducer never fouls and gives the
transducer a long life expec tancy. The MLT844 is supplied
with three disposable clip-on domes. It is suitable for
connection to any ADInstruments Bridge Amps.
Operation
To prepare the transducer, first remove the protection cap from the transducer and
slide it down the cable. Fill and flush the tubing system (dome, interconnecting tubing,
stopcocks), prior to attaching dome to the transducer. To minimize the formation of
bubbles, use fluid at room temperature or above and fill the system slowly. When this
procedure is correctly followed, the filled tubing system should be free of bubbles and
the dome diaphragm should not be distended. Attach the dome to the transducer
(keep the filled dome vented to atmospheric pressure).
Note: There should not be any liquid between the dome membrane and the
transducer. Mount the transducer at the level where the pressure is to be measured.
Zero and calibrate the Bridge Amp according to the Owner’s Guide.
Following use, clean, dry and store the transducer safely in its box. The domes are
disposable; however for animal use, they may be used a number of times by thoroughly
flushing them between use. Extra domes in sets of ten are available (MLA844).
Application
The MLT844 Physiological Pressure Transducer is suitable for measuring arterial
and venous blood pressure in animals. It may also be used to measure intracranial,
gastrologic and intrauterine pressures as well as urodynamic measurements by
catheterization.
