ICONE Index
Confinement Indicator based on CO2 Concentration
The ICONE index is an indicator created to assess the level of confinement in
schools. It can also be applied to other buildings.
Based on the CO2 concentration, it considers both the frequency and intensity of
confinement situations.
Derived from measurements taken every 10 minutes, this index offers 3
concentration classes:
Class 0: concentrations between 0 and 1000 ppm
Class 1: concentrations between 1000 and 1700 ppm
Class 2: concentrations above 1700 ppm
The formula for this index is: N = 8.3 log(1+f1+3 f2), where fi represents the
proportions of CO2 values in each of the three classes (f0+f1+f2=1).
The resulting index varies between 0 (no confinement) and 5 (extreme confinement).
The classes mentioned above are the default configurations in the product. The
ICONE index automatically adjusts based on the "orange" and "red" thresholds set
by the user.
