Measurement Procedure
3.3.1
Connecting the Sensor
Connect the sensor to the INPUT connector.
3.3.2
Setting the Wavelength
Sets the wavelength sensitivity correction of the 8250A according to the wavelength which is used.
3.3.3
Zero Cancel
Cancel the offset by covering the sensor with the sensor-cap or shading the sensor completely, and pressing
the ZERO key of the 8250A for approximately 2 seconds.
3.3.4
Setting the Range
Using Autorange is recommended when performing the normal measurement because the 8250A will
measure using the optimum range. Using Manual Range is recommended when using the analog output or
to prevent the unit prefix from changing.
3.3.5
Reading the Display
Reads the displayed value of the 8250A.
The measured value is calculated by the following formula and displayed.
In the measurement with the "W" unit display, if the measured value exceeds the maximum display
(199999) of each range, "OL" (Overload: Over range) is displayed.
(However, "OL" is displayed only in the highest range if the auto range is set.)
In the measurement with the "dBm" unit display, "OL" is displayed if the measured value, which is con-
verted into the unit of "W", exceeds the maximum display of each range, and "LO" (Under range) is dis-
played if the measured value is less than -90 dBm.
