THE
LAN
If you are operating in Router mode and in a LAN environment, then you also need to set your
LAN protocol, Ethernet Port IP address, and subnet mask.
If you prefer, you may use the default values of
10.0.0.1
for the Ethernet Port IP Address, and
255.255.255.0
for the subnet mask.

From the
System Management
main menu (
), enter

to display the
LAN Configuration
menu.

Configure the following parameters, 1 through 6, for the PPP session:

then select one of the following for DHCP protocol:

Spanning Tree
where you select

Disable
spanning tree protocol or select

Enable
spanning tree protocol for all bridging sessions.

DHCP Client mode
where you select

Disable
DHCP client mode or select
2
to
Enable
DHCP client mode for the modem.
If a DHCP server is not set up and active on your LAN, do not enable DHCP
client. DHCP Client mode is recommended for use only when bridging is used
as the LAN protocol.
