Liquid Crystal Display Information
The SGM3000 Smart Meter family uses a monochrome liquid crystal display to indicate the
principal pieces of information to utilities and consumers.
The meter LCD will continue to continuously display data when there is communication
occurring locally via the optical port, via a HAN device, and remotely via the AMI interface.
The meter supports configuration of two lists of data: an automatic cycling list and a manual
cycling list. The total number of display items in both display scrolls support up to 75, divided
between the two scrolls as desired. The sequence of data items can be selected for both lists
independently. Both the automatic and manual cycling lists will support selection of any item
that the meter can measure or calculate and the data values can be present in both lists.
The automatic cycling list will cycle between data values on the LCD in the sequence they are
selected. The dwell time between changing from one data value to the next is configurable.
When the meter is operating, the automatic cycling list will scroll by default on the LCD.
If the physical scroll button is pressed, the LCD will cease to display the automatic cycling list
and will display the first value in the manual cycling list. When the manual cycling list is
displayed, the meter LCD will scroll only when the scroll button is pressed. If the scroll button is
not pressed for 60 seconds, the meter will revert to displaying the automatic cycling list.
The meter supports selection of the data values for display. All measured and computed data
values can be selected. The meter supports the display of 6 items that can be populated by the
AMI interface or locally via MeterMate and the selection of the number of decimal points for
display individually for each data value.
