terminals of the SGM3030 meter variant. The external relay terminals are located on the right
side of the terminal block.
The primary terminal arrangements are the same as the SGM3030 meter and the load control
terminals will be located on the right hand side of the terminal block.

Terminal Guard
The SGM3000 Series meters have a terminal guard that provides an isolating barrier from the
terminals of the meter underneath the terminal cover. The terminal guard will provide
protection from all terminals on the direct connect meter models.
6.3 AMI Cartridge
One of the key features of the SGM3000 Series meters is the field replaceable AMI cartridge.
The SGM3000 Series meters have a removable physical cartridge containing AMI technology to
support communication between the meter and the back-office AMI system. The AMI cartridge
is located beneath the terminal cover. The AMI cartridge can be replaced while the meter is
powered and without breaking the meter cover seals.
The AMI cartridge supports the use of multiple vendor AMI technologies due to the suitable
physical size of the cartridge, the provided power, and the physical ability to use one (or more)
daughter boards to convert connectors and signals.
6.4 Voltage Test Link
The SGM3000 three phase meters have a voltage (or potential) test link. The voltage test link
separates meter current from the voltage that is used when calibrating or testing meters. The
voltage test link is located under the terminal cover.
6.5 Backup Power Supply
The SGM3000 Series meters have a backup power supply in a small cavity located beneath the
terminal cover. The backup power supply is located under the terminal cover, not the meter
cover, so the meter seals do not need to be broken, and the backup power supply can be
replaced without the need to disconnect the meter from the main supply
