On select Acer computers, Microsoft

now offers the option to use Windows
®
XP Professional
under a Windows
®
7 Professional or Windows
®
7 Ultimate license. Please note that after you
change the operating system, all personal settings will be reset to the new system defaults.
Before downgrading to Windows
®
XP Professional, you need to configure your language
settings and complete the initial installation of Windows
®
7 OS.
Before installation, you must complete the following:
A. Select the language settings for the newly purchased system. Do not upgrade or downgrade
before choosing a language.
B. Back up your data using any backup tool. During installation, your system drive will be
reformatted and all data will be erased.
C. Disengage security tools. Unlock your machine and drives, and unencrypt all data.

1. Install Windows

1.1. Press
<Alt> + <F10>
or the OBR button when the screen displays the Acer logo.
1.2. Select
Completely Restore System to Factory Defaults
.
1.3. Select Windows

7 when prompted to select the operating system.
1.4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation process.
2. To revert to Windows
®
XP, please complete A, B and C above and reboot. Then press
<Alt>
+ <F10>
or the OBR button. Select Windows
®
XP when prompted to select the operating
system.
