To add HDDs in to a linear or normal RAID configuration:

Caution: HDDs are formatted before they are added to the  
storage system. Make sure that you back up any important files 
that are on the HDD before you add it to storage system. 
Formatting a drive deletes all files on the HDD.

Install the new HDD to the storage system. 
(1) If necessary, unlock the front door.

[1] Insert the key into the lock. 

[2] Turn the key counterclockwise to the unlocked position
