Upon receipt of your battery, it is 

recommended to bring the battery to 

complete charge for 12 hours prior to 

first use.

To charge the battery, plug the 

AC adaptor that comes with your 

Cholestech LDX

 analyzer into a 

wall outlet.

Connect the battery to the AC 

adaptor using the appropriate port on 

the AC adaptor and battery.

Flashing lights will indicate the battery 

is charging.

When the lights are completely 

full (5 LEDs on) the battery is 

fully charged.
When the charge is 100% the LEDs will turn off.  

Remove from the charger when all LEDs are off.

The battery is ready for use.

In order to check the status of the battery charge level, press the 

 button. If the battery is being charged, the LEDs will display 

automatically.

1 red LED on and flashing indicates the 

battery must be charged – a test on 

the LDX might not complete

1 LED on not flashing indicates the 

battery level is <20% and should be 

charged soon

2 LEDs on indicates the battery level 

is <40%

3 LEDs on indicates the battery level 

is <60%

4 LEDs on indicates the battery level 

is <80%

is between 80% and 100%

LEDs flashing, while plugged in, 

indicates the battery is charging and 

the approximate charge level it is 

currently at (1-5 LEDs)

BATTERY KIT 

Battery specifications

•  The battery is expected to last 10 hours or 60 tests, whichever 

comes first, before needing to be recharged.

•  The battery is expected to have a minimum life of 2 years 

under normal operating conditions (0° C to 45°C charging, 

-20°C to 60°C discharging).

•  Store the battery in a cool dry place based on the following 

storage times at 65% ± 20% Relative humidity:

a.  1 month: -20°C to 60°C

b.  3 months: -20°C to 45°C

c.  12 months: -20°C to 25°C

•  It is expected a full charge will take up to 12 hours.

Battery precautions

•  Note: The battery cells can be shipped or stored down to -20°C 

but it is recommended to not be used until the temperature is at or 

greater than 0°C.

•  It is recommended the battery is charged while not plugged in to 

the Cholestech LDX system.

•  Note: Do not use the battery when the Cholestech LDX is 

connected to a printer.
