Preparing the TLP4820 for Installation

Push one of the RJ45 connectors on the Ethernet cable carefully through the cable gland and
rubber boot towards the TLP4820. The boot stretches to accommodate the connector.

Connect the RJ45 connector to the receptacle inside the TLP4820 so that it clicks into place.
6.
Slide the rubber boot back into the cable gland.
7.
Screw the cable gland onto the opening until the opening secures the Ethernet cable and
creates a secure water seal.
8.
Verify that the streetlight receptacle service voltage is between 100VAC and 277VAC (some
streetlights may operate at higher voltage).
9.
Remove power from the streetlight.
10.
Remove the existing photoelectric control or shorting cap from the streetlight luminaire by
turning it counterclockwise to unlock and then lifting up.
11.
Install the TLP4820 by sliding it into the three-prong receptacle and turning clockwise to
lock.
12.
Install the photoelectric control or shorting cap on the TLP4820 by sliding it into the three-
prong receptacle and turning clockwise to lock.
