Application
To get fast, complete and reliable information about disturbances in the primary and/or in
the secondary system it is very important to gather information on fault currents, voltages
and events. It is also important having a continuous event-logging to be able to monitor in
an overview perspective. These tasks are accomplished by the disturbance report function
DRPRDRE and facilitate a better understanding of the power system behavior and related
primary and secondary equipment during and after a disturbance. An analysis of the
recorded data provides valuable information that can be used to explain a disturbance,
basis for change of IED setting plan, improve existing equipment, and so on. This
information can also be used in a longer perspective when planning for and designing new
installations, that is, a disturbance recording could be a part of Functional Analysis (FA).
Disturbance report DRPRDRE, always included in the IED, acquires sampled data of all
selected analog and binary signals connected to the function blocks that is,
•
maximum 30 external analog signals,
•
10 internal derived analog signals, and
•
96 binary signals.
Disturbance report function is a common name for several functions that is, Indications,
Event recorder, Sequential of events, Trip value recorder, Disturbance recorder.
