14.11.7 Operation principle
Upon receiving signals at its inputs, IEC 61850 generic communication I/O functions 16
inputs (SP16GGIO) function will send the signals over IEC 61850-8-1 to the equipment
or system that requests this signals. To be able to get the signal, one must use other tools,
described in the Engineering manual and define which function block in which equipment
or system should receive this information.
There are also 16 output signals that show the input status for each input as well as an OR
type output combined for all 16 input signals. These output signals are handled in PST.

14.12.2 Functionality
IEC61850 generic communication I/O functions (MVGGIO) function is used to send the
instantaneous value of an analog signal to other systems or equipment in the substation.
It can also be used inside the same IED, to attach a RANGE aspect to an analog value and
to permit measurement supervision on that value.
