Procedure

1.

Examine the condition of the grounding bar and grounding cables in the MV switchgear
area. If there is any visible corrosion, remove the cables and remove the corrosion with
steel wool. Apply joint compound between the grounding bar and the joint surfaces of
the cable terminal.

2.

Change the spring lock washers. Tighten the cables to the nominal torque values.

3.

If corrosion is more, apply protective wax spray on the grounding bar and the cable
terminals.
