(Factory) configuration of the LD4NX RJ card with RJ45
format
Figure9: Overview of the
LD4NX
RJ card
Two operating modes can be configured on the LD4NX RJ card:
•
LD4N operating mode: LD4N default configuration (operating mode compatible with the old
LD4).
•
The LD4X operating mode, compatible only with software release 4.1 and later: The LD4X
operating mode is obtained by removing or adding jumper J14 of the LD4NX RJ card in slot 1-
2, and offers the following additional features:
•
Since the LD4NX RJ in LD4X mode uses the dedicated trunk of its slot, there are no
longer any restrictions on the location of the card.
•
The card’s hardware information can be read through the MMC (presence of an
EEPROM on the LD4NX RJ card in LD4X mode).
•
It is possible to declare up to10 LD4NX RJ cards in LD4X mode of a NeXspan L.
•
It is possible to read the status of the S0 access of the LD4NX RJ card in LD4X mode
remotely once the card is in service.
